After a multifaceted education in art at Skidmore College, Colby College, and the Graduate School of Design at Harvard University, Jil Eaton's professional career as painter, graphic designer, and arts administrator has dressed her in many hats, most lately as an internationally-acclaimed knitting designer. For many years, she has designed, published, and distributed internationally an independent line of hand-knitting patterns under the Minnowknits™ label. Jil Eaton's designs have a comfortable but chic silhouette, encompassing both the traditional and the contemporary, adapting everything in easy-to-make projects with great attention to detail, fresh styling, and unusual colorways. Fascinated with color and fashion, Jil's inspiration comes from many diverse directions, from the pages of French VOGUE to paintings at the Met. Always returning to her deep-seated love of knitting, designing knitwear focuses all of her talents. Jil juggles work for collections, books, travel, and life with her husband David, her son Alexander and his family, and a charming cockapoo. And in spite of the deadlines and responsibilities inherent in such a busy life, she still loves to knit!
